Outlook Express 5 is one of many POP3/IMAP email clients available for the Mac OS. The basic setup instruction to work with email here are listed for you to use this email client. | |
From the Tools menu, choose Accounts. This will bring up Account Setup Wizard. You will be presented with several screens.
Screen 1: Your Name
Display name: The name you want displayed for this account Click Right Arrow
Screen 2: Internet E-Mail Address
E-mail address: Your E-mail Address Click Right Arrow
Screen 3: E-mail Server Names
My incoming mail server is a(n) POP3 server Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) server: yoursite.com Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: yoursite.com Click Right Arrow
Screen 4: Internet Mail Logon
Account ID: Email Username Password: Email Password Save Password: Choose Click Right Arrow
Screen 5: Congratulations
Account name: The name for this account Click Finished
Congratulations, you've now setup Outlook Express 5 to use your email account. Repeat the above steps to setup further email accounts. |
*After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account. If you can't send emails that means your ISP is most likely blocking your Outgoing Mail server port 25 (default). You can change that port to 26 if you have Linux hosting with us or to port 465 if you have Windows hosting with us.
