Outlook 2002 (XP) is one of many POP3/IMAP email clients available for the Windows OS. The basic setup instruction to work with email here are listed for you to use this email client.
 

 

From the Tools menu, choose Email Accounts... This will open the Email Accounts window, which contains several screens.

Screen 1: E-mail Accounts

E-mail: Choose "Add a new e-mail account"
Click Next

Screen 2: Server Type

Server Type: POP3
Click Next

Screen 3: Internet Email Settings (POP3)

User Information

Your Name: Your Name
Email Address: Your Email Address

Server Information

Incoming mail server (POP3): yoursite.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): yoursite.com

Logon Information

User Name: Your Email Username
Password: Your Email Password
Remember Password: Checked

Note: Do not check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" as this is not used here.

Click More Settings... to set Server Authentication. Choose the Outgoing Server tab.

My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication: Check
Use same settings as my incoming mail server: Leave Chosen
Click OK

Click Next
Click Finish

 

Leaving a Copy on the Server

This is also on the Advanced tab. Under the Delivery section, place a checkmark next to "Leave a copy of messages on server".

Congratulations, you've now setup Outlook 2002 (XP) to use your email account. Repeat the above steps to setup further email accounts.

*After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account. If you can't send emails that means your ISP is most likely blocking your Outgoing Mail server port 25 (default). You can change that port to 26 if you have Linux hosting with us or to port 465 if you have Windows hosting with us.
