Netscape 4.x is one of many POP3/IMAP email clients available for the Windows OS. The basic setup instruction to work with email here are listed for you to use this email client. | |

Choose Preferences... from the Edit Menu
Under Category, click the + sign in front of Mail & Newsgroups
Identity
Your Name: Your Name
Email Address: Email Address
Reply-to Address (Optional): Reply Address
Mail Servers
Incoming Mail Server
Choose Edit...
General Tab
Server Name: yoursite.com
Server Type: POP3
User Name: Email User Name
Remember Password: Check
Pop Tab
Leave message on server: (optional)
Click OK
Outgoing Mail Server
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: yoursite.com
Outgoing mail server user name: Email User Name
Click OK
Congratulations, you've now setup Netscape 4.x to use your email account. Repeat the above steps to setup further email accounts. |
*After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account. If you can't send emails that means your ISP is most likely blocking your Outgoing Mail server port 25 (default). You can change that port to 26 if you have Linux hosting with us or to port 465 if you have Windows hosting with us.
